Who we are
This policy covers the HoneyTabs mobile app (“the app”) and the website at honeytabs.com. Both are operated by HoneyTabs (“we”, “us”), PO Box 104, McAlester, OK 74502. You can reach us any time at hello@honeytabs.com.
HoneyTabs is a tool for event organizing teams to plan events, sell and track sponsors, manage tasks, crew, costs and files, and work together. Access requires an account, and teammates join by invitation from an organization's owner or admin.
Information we collect
We only collect information you or your teammates put into the app, plus what's needed to run it:
- Account information: your email address, a password stored only in hashed form, and an optional display name.
- Organization and event data: organization and event names, dates, categories, venues, team membership, roles and permissions, and invitations (the invitee's email address).
- Sponsor and contact data: names, business names, phone numbers, email addresses, tiers, notes, sponsor spots and packages, amounts and statuses that your team enters.
- Tasks and schedules: to-dos, repeating tasks, due dates, assignments, checklists, production sheets, personnel and costs.
- Files and photos you choose to add: receipts, photos and PDF files you upload. The app asks for camera or photo access only when you use those features, and it only uploads the items you pick.
- Notifications: if you turn on notifications, a device notification token so we can send you reminders and updates. You can turn these off in your phone's settings.
- Google account data, only if you connect Google: see Google user data below.
Contact details for sponsors and others are entered by your team. If you add someone else's details, please make sure you're allowed to.
We do not collect your location, your phone's contacts, advertising identifiers or browsing activity. The app has no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no third-party tracking.
How we use information
- To provide the app: sign you in, show your organization's data to you and your teammates based on their permissions, and keep it in sync across devices.
- To do the things you ask, like sending an email you wrote, adding a deadline to your calendar or printing a file.
- To send account emails you request, like sign-up confirmation and password reset codes, and notifications you've turned on.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information for advertising or marketing, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles.
Google API Services: how we use Google user data
Connecting a Google account is optional. If you connect one, HoneyTabs asks for only these two permissions (“scopes”):
- Send email on your behalf (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send): used only to send email that you write or approve in the app, such as a sponsor thank-you or an event invite, from your own Gmail address. - View and edit events on your calendars (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events): used only to create and update calendar entries for your HoneyTabs events, deadlines and tasks, and to read the RSVP status (yes, no, maybe) on those events so the app can show who's coming.
HoneyTabs does not read your inbox. We don't request any permission to read, search or manage your Gmail messages, and we don't read your other calendar events beyond what's needed to manage the events HoneyTabs created.
HoneyTabs' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice, that means:
- We use Google user data only to provide the email and calendar features you see in the app.
- We don't sell Google user data, and we never use it for advertising, including retargeting or interest-based ads.
- We don't transfer it to anyone else except as needed to provide these features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or sale with notice to you.
- No person at HoneyTabs reads your Google data unless you ask us to for support, it's needed for security or abuse investigations, or the law requires it.
- We don't use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
Google access tokens are stored securely and used only to carry out the actions you take in the app.
Turning off Google access
- In the app, open Settings and disconnect your Google account. HoneyTabs stops sending mail and syncing your calendar right away and deletes its stored Google tokens.
- You can also remove HoneyTabs' access any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- Emails already sent and calendar events already created stay in your Google account, and you can delete them there.
Deleting your account
Delete your account in the app under More → Delete account, or email hello@honeytabs.com from the address on your account. When your account is deleted, we also delete any stored Google tokens. Details are below.
Who can see your data
- Your team: data in an organization is visible only to its members, based on their role and the permissions the owner or admins set. These rules are enforced on our servers.
- Service providers: data is stored and processed by our hosting and database provider, Supabase (supabase.com), on our behalf. Account emails may be sent through an email delivery provider. If you connect Google, email and calendar actions go through Google.
- The law: we may disclose information if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting data
- Your data is kept while your account is active.
- You can delete your account any time in the app: More → Delete account. This permanently deletes your login and profile and removes you from all organizations. If you're the only owner of an organization that has other members, ownership passes to its longest-standing admin (or, if there isn't one, its longest-standing member), and the organization's data stays available to them. If you're the only member of an organization, that organization and all of its events, sponsors, tasks and files are deleted too.
- Owners and admins can remove members and delete events, sponsor records and files at any time.
- You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing hello@honeytabs.com.
Backups held by our hosting provider are overwritten on their normal schedule.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed by our sign-in provider. Server-side access rules limit each person to the organizations they belong to. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
This website
honeytabs.com is a simple information site. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and its fonts are served from this site. It's hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may keep standard server logs, like IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
Children
HoneyTabs isn't directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age where you live), and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and we'll let you know in the app or by email about significant changes.
